Lucy and Jack’s gorgeous summer wedding at Plas Dinam was full of fun, colour and beautiful personalised touches that let the couple’s personalities shine.

Plas Dinam provided the perfect setting for Jack and Lucy’s celebrations, as they got to spend the whole weekend with their loved ones, making their wedding truly their own, with talented artist Lucy’s handpainted watercolour signage and fabric banner taking pride of place behind the top table, table flowers grown by Lucy’s lovely dad (he also made their confetti too, the star!), and vibrant satin ribbons everywhere! With the stunning summer florals and emerald bridesmaids’ dresses, Lucy and Jack’s day was bursting with colour. I absolutely fell in love with Lucy’s moss-green velvety bow shoes – see if you can catch a glimpse of them peeking out from under her dress! And Lucy’s gorgeous dress from Unbridled Studio also needs a mention – the floaty puff-sleeve organza top which tied in a bow over Lucy’s tiered satin gown was a match made in heaven.

The August weather was perfect for an outdoor ceremony on Plas Dinam’s lawns, with wide-reaching views of the Welsh hills and countryside all around – simply stunning! Jack was beaming as Lucy walked towards him down the aisle, and the couple’s happiness was evident as they exchanged vows. After confetti outside the grand front door of the house, Lucy and Jack had a wander through the venue’s beautiful grounds and gardens for some quick couples’ portraits before joining their guests on the sunny lawn for cocktails and canapes.

One of my favourite aspects of Plas Dinam is the glass-roofed Stables, which are a wonderful space for the wedding breakfast and evening party! Lucy’s dad’s flowers brought the outside in beautifully, and I loved the paper pompoms and disco balls the couple had hung from the rafters! After a relaxed dinner of pizza and handmade desserts, the warm early-evening light beckoned for a few more portraits in the long grass of the wildflower meadow before the dancing started.

I had a fantastic day second shooting for the fab Jessica Hopwood Photography (www.jessicahopwood.com)
