Plas Dinam is a gorgeous (and huge!) Welsh country house, tucked away amongst mountains overlooking the picturesque Severn Valley and surrounded by beautiful gardens, forty-year old wildflower meadows, ancient trees, and twelve acres of woodland walks. Designed and built in 1873, Plas Dinam was bought by David Davies of Llandinam in 1884, and has remained in the family ever since, and is run with a focus on warmth, fun and letting couples make their wedding truly their own, while promoting an ecofriendly, sustainable approach.
Plas Dinam offers several stunning locations for wedding ceremonies, from the elegant and light-filled drawing room, perfect for an intimate ceremony for up to 60 guests, or the grand hall, which seats up to 120 guests for larger celebrations. The lawns provide a stunning outdoor ceremony option, with wide-ranging views across the Welsh countryside, or alternatively couples may opt to seat their guests outside the lovely front door arch, or in the woodlands. For couples preferring a church ceremony, St Llonio’s in Llandinam is within walking distance of the house.
Plas Dinam’s lawns and gardens are a fantastic setting for canapés and drinks on sunny days, with their beautiful backdrop of wildflower meadows and mountains. The living room and drawing room have big windows over looking the lawns for guests who prefer to stay indoors, and also provide plenty of space for guests on rainy days. A short walk away through the grounds, the Victorian Stables offer a bright, unique and versatile celebration space. Featuring a glass-roofed courtyard surrounded by stables with original tiles, quirky bathrooms, statement lighting, a well-stocked bar and an oak dancefloor, the Stables can seat up to 160 guests for the wedding breakfast and evening party and is a really wonderful space. Plas Dinam is self-catering, and guests are free to use the large kitchen or hire caterers, and couples are welcomed to provide their own drinks, corkage-free.
Couples and their guests get exclusive use of the entire house and grounds for the weekend, which includes 15 beautiful bedrooms, a grand dining room which seats up to 60, elegant sitting room, drawing room and library, along with a well stocked kitchen, snug TV room and games rooms reached through the labyrinthine corridors. For young guests there is also a delightful playroom opening out onto the lawns, plus a table tennis room, and garden games to keep little ones entertained. Plas Dinam is also dog friendly! Out in the expansive grounds, guests can make use of the BBQ, pizza oven, tennis court, and go for stunning hill walks or wild swimming - an amazing range of options to fill your weekend! Accommodation at Plas Dinam includes fifteen bedrooms sleeping 34 guests in the main house, plus the Lodge House at the bottom of the drive (6 guests), Stables Loft (2 guests), and summer glamping (20 guests) out beyond the tennis court.
